Dr. John Marymont, MD, MBA, has been chosen as the new chairman for the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at LSUHSC in Shreveport. Dr. Marymont is a nationally known foot and ankle specialist, and is fellowship trained in foot and ankle and sports medicine. Dr. Marymont was recruited to LSUHSC from Baylor, where he was the Orthopaedic Surgery Program Director and a professor of orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Marymont earned his MD degree from Vanderbilt Medical School. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. After his residency in 1991, Dr. Marymont completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and subsequently completed a foot and ankle fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
